Marco Dy Claims His First Predator Event in the A-D at Mr. Cue Billiards

Tony Robles and the Predator 9-ball Tour held their first “A-D” tournament of the season this past weekend at Mr. Cue’s Billiards, in Lindenhurst, NY. The tour’s 3rd $1,000-added stop welcomed its players to this new pool room on the tour’s schedule, and they created a significant buzz within the pool room.
The tournament drew a full field of 64 players, which comprised a perfect mix of 32 C’s and D’s and 32 B’s and A’s. This two-day event brought many of the Tri-State area’s strongest up-and-coming men and women players trying to climb the Predator Tour points standings.

The Riviera Hotel and Casino Hosts the BCAPL Championships and Offers More Value at Great Price

The Riviera Casino has welcomed pool players into its casino for many, many years. Pool tournaments and exhibitions have been a vital source of revenue and buzz factor for the casino and brand.
As more companies are re-inventing their brands to evolve with the changing times, The Riviera Hotel and Casino has invested millions of dollars renovating the casino and the guest towers.
It seems that while the company is planning to continue evolving, it will continue to stay true to it’s roots. There will be a lot of action coming up in May in Las Vegas, and the Riviera looks to refresh it’s brand by showcasing a “New Look” while offering rooms to pool players at $85.

John Schmidt Wins Diamond 10-ball Open as the 2009 Expo Comes to a Close

On Sunday March 22, the 2009 Super Billiards Expo came to a close, rewarding some of the event’s players very handsomely, while others had to go home hoping for better luck next time… “Mr. 400″ John Schmidt, was one of the lucky ones to walk away with by far the largest top prize of $20,000.
However, you didn’t have to be a pro to win at the Expo, with divisions for players at every skill level and age. In the Senior’s division, Pennsylvania’s Dave Daya came in first place, defeating Dave Fernandez of Vermont. In the Men’s Amateur Open Division, which saw in incredible 864 entrants, 2-time Derby City Classic 9-ball Banks champion, Larry Price would walk away with the $5,000 top prize, topping Michigan’s Danny Barnes.

Johnny Archer and Nick Varner are Appearing Tomorrow at Gallery Billiards for a Clinic and Exhibition!

Fresh off the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA, “Player of the 90′s” Johnny Archer and 8-time World Champion Nick Varner will be spending the day in Newburgh, NY to give a 4-hour clinic and trick shot exhibition tomorrow at Gallery Billiards.
Johnny and Nick are currently touring the Northeast on the Legends and Champions Pool Tour which normally features Johnny and Earl Strickland, but Nick Varner is filling in while Earl is spending March in Japan. Nick Varner, who continues to be one of the most dominant players alive today is not a bad fill in to say the least.
These legendary players are considered two of the most sought-after players in the world, and their careers span three decades combined.
The clinic is limited to 12 students and the cost is $200, an incredible value. However, there is only one spot remaining in this class, so make sure to call Gallery Billiards at 848-565-1994 to sign up.
Their Trick Shot Exhibition will begin at 8:00 pm, and it is free to the public. It will definitely be a show you won’t want to miss.
Corey Deuel Claims the Hot Seat at Valley Forge as the Action at the Super Billiards Expo Heats Up!

We’re are now in the the thick of the action here as the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA kicks off it’s 4th and final day. After three days of grinding hard against the best of the best in each division, the fields have been narrowed down the the final brackets to determine who’s who.
In this year’s feature men’s pro event, the Diamond 10-Ball Pro Players Championship, Corey Deuel has run through this field of international pool superstars to land in the hot seat. Along the way, Corey defeated Tony Robles, Brandon Shuff, Shane Van Boening, John Schmidt, and finally Oscar Dominguez, for the hot seat, by a score of 10-4.

The standard entry deadline for the National 8-Ball Championships is tomorrow – Saturday, March 21. So, if you want to avoid late fees this year, your entry must be postmarked by Saturday – or faxed by Sunday with credit card information.
The late entry deadline (the last day to enter the tournament) is April 6…

The Super Billiards Expo is in Full Swing at Valley Forge!

The 2009 Super Billiards Expo is in full swing here in Valley Forge, PA, where over 1000 of the best pool players from around the country have gathered to compete for cash prizes. The Expo features a wide range of amateur events… juniors, men’s, women’s, and seniors, as well as men’s and women’s professional events.
This fantastic event is also open to the public, so if you are looking to catch some of the best billiard action in the country, this is the place!
Here on Day 2 of the Expo, the TAP league “Rally in the Valley” Team Championship began at 11:00 am, as well as the Senior Players Championship, which 350 players are registered for. Later this evening, the Women’s Players Championship will begin at 7:00 pm as well, with a field of 169 ladies.

Jerry Tarantola Dominates the Tristate Tour at Comet Billiards

On Saturday, March 14, The Tri-State Tour brought a solid field of 50 players out to Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ to compete in the one-day A-D event for a first prize of $650.
As the event wore on and the competition grew tougher, great performances were seen from a number of players.
However NYC Grind’s own Jerry Tarantola stayed in control throughout the event to take the title. Jerry’s thunderous break was in full effect during this event, which gave him a major advantage.

Dennis Hatch Wins His 7th Consecutive Joss Tour Stop at Trick Shots in Clifton Park, NY

Surprise, surprise, you would never believe it, I bet you cannot guess, you will be amazed when I tell you….
Wait for it…
Yes, Dennis “The Hatchetman” Hatch has won this week’s Joss Tour event at Trick Shots, in Clifton Park, Albany, NY.
He once again ran through the field on the winner’s side, meeting Mike Zuglan in the hot seat match. Only to meet Mike again in the final, where Dennis beat him in one straight set.
Thirty-four competitors showed up to fight for this title, including Bucky Souvanthong, Steve Lillis, and many other familiar faces.
