The 15th Annual Derby City Classic is now in its fourth day of competition at the Horseshoe Casino in Elizabeth, Indiana… and it is an exciting day for bank pool fans, as the 9-Ball Banks division of the event has been narrowed down to the best of the best: of the original 353 players, Shannon Murphy, Francisco Bustamante, and Justin Hall are the three left standing. This will make for the first time any of these three players have won the event.
At 7pm EST today, the semifinal match of the 9-Ball Banks will take place, which will be streamed live via Accu-Stats.com. The two players set to face off in this match will be Francisco Bustamante and Shannon Murphy. Murphy is now the only remaining player in the Banks division with no losses, while Bustamante has one loss (after being defeated in Round 9 against Justin Hall), but has bought back in.
Depending on the outcome of that match, there will either be one more final match, or two more matches. If Murphy wins, Bustamante will be eliminated, and Murphy will move on to match up against Justin Hall. If Bustamante wins, Murphy will have one loss, and would then buy back in.
The player waiting for the result of that match, Justin Hall, has a chance to claim his second major 9-Ball Bank title, as he won the inaugural Banks title at the Southern Classic. Additionally, Hall just won the 9-Ball Bank Ring Game over the weekend on Saturday, which was played on a 10 foot Diamond table on the Accu-Stats.com live stream. Fans can continue to watch the final rounds of action in the 9-Ball Banks division this evening via Accu-Stats.com. Meanwhile, action in the One Pocket division is now also underway, along with the Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, and the Straight Pool Challenge. Stay tuned for more details to come on those three events…
