Tonight in Manhattan, the NAPL (National Amateur Pool League) will be holding the championship match of its sixth season at 7:30pm at Paddy McGuire’s. The summer season brought in fourteen diverse teams of players from the NYC metro area, and now the final two will be facing off for the title.
The finalists are…
Ball Breakers: This team has played in all six seasons, and after being at the top of their division multiple times, has finally made it to the finals.
Bobby Patron (Captain)
Get It In: Also having played in all six seasons, this team is looking to earn another championship, having won twice already.
Naldo Troncoso (Captain)
The NAPL was founded by Tony Robles in October of 2009, with the intention of providing a fun environment for amateurs looking to compete and improve their games.
The two main sponsors for the NAPL are Poison Billiards and Delta-13 Racks, who are providing awesome prizes for each season’s winning teams and MVPs.
This season’s male and female MVP’s, Bobby Patron (captain of Ball Breakers) and Yomaylin “Smiley” Feliz (of 3rd place finishing team United Nations), are each receiving personalized Delta-13 racks, while the winning team will receive a cue or case from Poison Billiards.
Nearly twenty teams are already signed up for the upcoming Fall Season, which will kick off on September 28. While the NAPL currently runs leagues exclusively from Manhattan locations, they have teams signed up out of Cue Bar in Bayside and are planning to expand another league in Queens.
